Sound Circles - Drum Circle Events for All Ages

Though not a licensed “Music Therapist”, Lansing has also studied with neurologist Dr. Barry Bittman, founder and CEO of the Mind-Body Wellness Center, in Meadville, PA, and music therapist Christine Stevens, director of Remo Drum Company’s HealthRhythms, a rhythm based protocol to enhance wellbeing. Dr. Bittman and Ms. Stevens together teach the HealthRhythms method.

Lansing wishes to thank (en-masse) a long list of people from all walks of his experience, from formal learning and training environments--former students, friends, and teachers; he is most appreciative for what blessings, teachings & gifts were shared over the years by those who made the Circles of his Sound Circles experiences come alive. As the  wisdom goes: “We learn most from those whom we serve”.

Lansing is especially thankful for the faithful support of his wife Laura and son Nathaniel.

...about Lansing Day

A lover of the Arts and an amateur musician all his life, Lansing earned an MA in Literature from the University of Iowa and in 2005 published a collection of prose and poetry, Bright the Shaded Moon. Formerly a Montessori elementary teacher (nine years) and a senior manager (six years) in the corporate world, Lansing studied the West African Djembe with Afro-Cuban master drummer, Maurice Haltom and is presently a life-long student of Rhythm Circle facilitator and trainer Arthur Hull, founder of Village Music Circles. Arthur is considered by most to be the premiere Drum Circle facilitator in the world today. Implementing specialized facilitation techniques he’s invented and practiced for more than twenty years, Arthur continues to develop his innovative program -- using facilitated Drum Circle “rhythm-play” as a means of enhancing human potential and inspiring community spirit.
